
2. Toets Gesproken Nederlands (Spoken Dutch test)
The Toets Gesproken Nederlands (Spoken Dutch test; TGN) assesses whether you are able to speak and comprehend Dutch at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In this test, you are not required to read or write anything. The test is in five parts, with four different types of question:
- repeating sentences
- answering brief questions
- stating opposites
- repeating sentences
- retelling a short story.
Before each part you will hear instructions in Dutch. The computer will also give an example before parts 1, 2 and 3.
You will hear all questions one at a time through the headset and you must speak your answer to each into the microphone. Your answers will be automatically scored by the computer.
