Practice tests
The self-study pack contains four practice exercises which familiarize the student with the form of the tests in the official civic integration examination. The extra pack also contains four practice tests.
To take the practice tests you must enter the TIN codes included in the pack. Two TIN codes are for the TGN practice test and two for the GBL practice test. You will also find the telephone number to call in the pack.
Important: do not attempt the practice tests until you feel confident that you have done enough preparation. Each TIN code can be used only once! If the practice test is interrupted for any reason, you must enter a new TIN code and start again.
1. The Gesproken Nederlands (Spoken Dutch; TGN) practice test
To take the TGN practice test, you will need a TIN code (Test Identification Number) and a telephone. We strongly advise that you use a landline and a telephone with press-button keys. A mobile phone or VOIP connection (such as Skype) may not be adequate.
Take the practice test in a quiet room. The self-study pack contains a telephone number and four TIN codes: two for the TGN practice test and two for the GBL practice test. When you dial the telephone number given, you will be connected to the computer. You must then enter the TIN code for the TGN practice test. If the code is accepted, the computer will conduct the practice test with you. After you complete the test, you can find out your score by going here. You will be asked to enter the same TIN code again and, having done so, you will see how you did.
Important: take good care of your TGN practice test TIN code. You will need it to access your results.
2. The Geletterdheid en Begrijpend Lezen (Literacy and Understanding Written Texts; GBL) practice test
To take the GBL practice test you will need a TIN (Test Identification Number) and a telephone. We strongly advise that you use a landline and a telephone with press-button keys. A mobile phone or VOIP connection (such as Skype) may not be adequate.
